Digital course itself is having high perceiving value. People think that it is very hard to create. It is able to provide much value for someone that has gone through the course. This is true, but for content or course creators like us, it may be the cheapest way to create a good, engaging lead magnet for our audience. Creating a digital course need not be always complicated if you follow the few steps below.
Step 1: Define The Topic Or Item You Want To Share or Teach
When you want to create a course, first of all, find the product or niche you want to sell first. Then prepare your course around it. For example, if I am selling a landing page builder. I will first define the main chapters in my course. And then subtopics in each chapter. Then in each chapter plan properly what I want to share.
Step 2: Create Simple Slides to Explain Your Lesson
You will only need to create a few pages explaining the concept and some introduction to the chapter. Then, you can use screen recording apps to record you showing how to use the tool or product. For this, you don’t really need any other tools if you don’t have one.
All you need is your laptop or computer, a webcam, and screen recording software like Camtasia. For the product you are showing, I would suggest you subscribe to it yourself and explain it. Step 3: Record Your Digital Course
Now you have all the preparation works done, you can start recording your first course. Find a place where you are comfortable and quiet. If required, get a mic to ensure good voice quality for the video. Make sure no one will disturb you during the video recording. You can record all at once, and then edit it into different shorter videos and categorized them into the respective section.
Step 4: Edit The Video
Now you have all the raw video recorded, time to edit it to be in a course structure. This includes adding some captions and explanations during the video. You might also have a voiceover if your voice is not clear during the recording. Then, add the thumbnail for each video so it looks attractive.
Step 5: Publish The Digital Course and Select Platforms To Manage It
Now there are a few different platforms like ClickFunnels, Kajabi, or even Udemy to sell your course. What I always do is the price it normally at Udemy. When people try to search for my name or course on the internet, they can see the normal price of the product. Of course, I can offer a discount code to make it free at the end. The audience can claim the course at Udemy for free, but what I want is to show the value of the course.
Now, when you complete the 5 steps above, repeat the same process when you want to create a new course. And for this course, after creating it, you can forget about that and focus on your traffic strategy.
Your next step should be focusing on building and optimizing your landing page. It shall only have one purpose, to convert more visitors into useful leads. Now, it’s time to create a different email sequence for a different group of audiences. The first group is for those that sign up and took your course. And the second group is for those who signed up but didn’t attend.
For those who had completed your course, you can directly share the link to take up your offer. And during the course, you can tease them about what to expect in the next class. This will get them excited and looking forward to the next class.
For those who signed up but not taking the course, you can hook them in a daily email. In the email, you can reveal some tips or secrets that you provide in daily class. Also, how they can benefit from it so they can catch up in the future.
The same thing you need to do for this email marketing. Know your data. You need to check and see which email is having a high open rate and clickthrough rate and which is not. For those low open rates, you may want to change the email title and the preview. And for those high open rates and low clickthrough rates, then it might be your email content that needs to be optimized.
